No churn ice cream

Jamie Oliver's No Churn Ice Cream

One of my favourite weekend treats is Jamie Oliver's no-churn ice cream recipe, a simple way to enjoy creamy, homemade ice cream without an ice cream maker. This recipe blends rich, velvety texture with endless flavour possibilities, making it perfect for any occasion. With just a few basic ingredients and minimal effort, you can create homemade icecream that's sure to impress family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 600 ml double cream
  • 1 tin of condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • (Optional - your favourite mix in - my favourites are Maltesers or Violet Crumble)

Method

  • Place the cream in a large bowl and whisk until soft peaks form, then fold in the condensed milk.
  • Line a freezer-proof container or a small loaf tin with a sheet of baking paper and pour in the mixture, making sure it goes into the corners. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  • Once you’re ready to serve, move from the freezer to the fridge (around 1 hour before you want to eat it), and gently thaw.
  • Turn it out onto a board, remove the baking paper and slice the ice cream into portions to serve. Bash up and sprinkle over a little extra chocolate to decorate, if you like.

This ice cream is the perfect accompianyment to peach and strawberry cobbler
